New Players Welcome

Need to get fit, want to have fun or just want something to do at weekends? Come and join Avonvale - players needed for all teams.

At Avonvale we pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming club as well as trying to play the highest standard of rugby our players are capable of.

This is true at all levels, from our Senior side who compete in Dorset & Wilts Division 1 (North) against other clubs of similar standard to our youngest players who compete against other teams of the same age and are encouraged to learn to enjoy the game as well as learning to play.

We are regularly approached by parents of children in all of our age groups who want to join us and we never turn anybody away.

Sadly some of our Junior teams start to lose a few players as the boys start to think of other things (usually girls!) and we are always on the lookout for young players to help maintain these age groups - our Under 16's are currently the biggest problem!

We are also always happy to boost our squad numbers in the senior side and still hope to be able to field a second team again in order to get more people playing the game at Avonvale.

Our Mini's section is thriving, with so many young players we often have to plan our pitch usage carefully on a Sunday morning - but we still have room for more!

With plenty of coaches at all levels we are able to provide a safe, enjoyable and educational environment for young players and continue to work to improve in any way that we can.

If you feel like joining us - or know somebody else who might - please contact the one of the club officials on the contact pages by telephone or e-mail - or just turn up! Check out the fixture lists to find out where we are and come along and meet one of the coaches (details are available on the team pages). Or you can contact the webmaster by e-mail (avonvalerfc@blueyonder.co.uk) or by using the contact form on this site and your message will be passed on to the right person who will get back in touch.
