HSDT grab the league lead from CSP

Aylesbury Rugby Club’s touch tournament went into its third week and this week’s results saw last week’s leaders CSP deposed as they had a poor week on the park. The Happy Slappers team, however, had a great week, winning all of their five games for the first time. However, the Happy Slappers were made to work hard in all their games and their last game against the Dragons was a very tight affair with Happy Slappers squeezing past the Dragons by one try.

The top of the table is very close with HSDT having 37 points, CSP 35 points and Dragons 34 points, so there is all to play for in the final four weeks of the league. Aylesbury Rugby Club's veterans hold fourth place with 27 points with the two Barbarians teams propping up the league.

The structure of the competition is simple as each team play each other team in a round robin format. This format allows everyone to mix and get to meet everyone else in the tournament.

We have two Barbarian sides and so people can still get involved as they will be slotted into one of these sides. Next week looks to promise more good rugby for male and female beginner and veteran alike.

The event is on every Thursday evening at the rugby club in Weston Turville kicking off at 7-00pm anyone interested should just turn up and get put into a side or ring Phil Bowden (07720037325) for more information.
