The best way to keep up to date with Aylesbury RFC

Rugby Club Management Apprentices Recruited

3 weeks ago By Adam Moore

Welcome to Aylesbury RFC staff to two of our own!

We are delighted to welcome Harry Price and Jack Simons onto the staff of Aylesbury Rugby Football Club. Harry and Jack join the team as Rugby Club Management Apprentices. The “Rugby Club Apprenticeship Scheme” is a flagship RFU initiative to encourage young people into Rugby Club Management – potentially leading to a career in Rugby or, more generally Sports Club, Management.

This scheme is fully supported by the Government and is being professionally managed by a training company engaged by the RFU. We are committed to giving Harry and Jack a wide range of experiences at ARFC – including Bar and Cellar Management, Event Management, Grounds Maintenance, Catering and Food Preparation as well as Rugby Specific opportunities (Coaching, Refereeing and Rugby administration). These will all be supported by the necessary training and a wide range of formal qualifications is available. They will also be able to continue to pursue formal academic qualifications supported by the Training Company.

Here’s what Jack had to say about joining Aylesbury RFC on his apprenticeship:

“Apart from gaining qualifications, the most important aspect is giving back to the club that has done so much for me and to help it to continue to thrive”

And here is what Hary is looking forward to on the programme:

“I’m hoping to learn the skills that are needed to expand my knowledge of what it takes to uphold the high standard of the club and to build my future as a representative of the club.”

Once again, Aylesbury Rugby Football Club is at the forefront of an innovative and ground-breaking RFU programme. This is a testament to our continued strength as a Community Rugby Club and to the confidence that the RFU has in ARFC.

These Apprenticeships have been advertised nationally and generated a large number of applicants. We were particularly delighted to offer the roles to Harry and Jack and that they have accepted. Both Harry and Jack are active members of the Club and over the years have contributed significantly to ARFC. It is very pleasing that we can offer this opportunity to two of “our own”.

Please look out for Harry and Jack and give them all the encouragement and help you can.

ARFC Executive Committee.
