With the addition of some back line players in to the squad along with some converts, mobile ones, from the forwrds Aylesbuty II's put out a more balanced squad to face what is typically a gritty team from the West side of Luton. Aylesbuy are set to recieve from the kick off and play towards the club house on the main pitch at Ostlers Field whith the sun blazing down on a beautiful day.

Aylesbury repeat a known issue of being asleep at the whistle and let the ball bounce which gives Dustable the advatage from the off. With both sides trying to get in to clear space, errors are made and the forwards are getting about the field mopping up each other mistakes. Play continues in the Aylesbury half for 10 minutes after which Dustable break the line and go over for a try. Disappointing, start to the game for A's as Dunstable's journeymey forwards are starting to look 'comfortable'. A missed conversion keeps the score at 0 - 5.

After the usual 10-15 minute siesta, Aylesbury start to get in their stride and advance in to the Dunstable half. A scrum left sees quick ball come out through hands to reach Seb Moore who goes over for his first of the day after 17 minutes. Score 5 - 5. Apparently, Roberts has got Wilkinsons boots on and misses the conversion when the weather couldn't be better for a simple kicking game.

This score give the A's a huge boost in confidence and they begin to dominate possession of the ball. With decent ball from Jack Benson (recently returned to the club after playing in France for 6 months - not rugby, just other stuff), TJ shows great strength and determination every time he gets the ball with barnstorming runs through the Dunstable back line - they certainly have thier work cut out defending this convert from rugby league. Eventually, TJ goes over for his first of the day, this time Roberts slots home the kick. Score 12 - 5.

With the forwards, with Sam Storey and Tom Williams at second row supporting a solid grunting front row of Hackett, Smewing and Eastgate combined with the dynamism of Perrins, Kibblewhite and Hardman now dominating the scrum and contact area the backs are getting quick ball and are constantly pressuring Dunstable in their own half. This result in further tries for Kibblewhite, and Seb Moore completing his first half hat trick. Dunstable get a penalty just outside A's 22 and it's a banker for 3 points, but the conversion is missed, and Roberts dilly-dallies collecting the ball to dab it down for a 22 when a sharp minded Dunstablian follows up on the kick and steals the ball for a try. Try conversions from Roberts takes the half time score to 31 - 10. Must have changed his boots!!

Substitutions are a welcome relief for some, but with the style and panache of play others are more reluctant to come off.

The second half see A's continue to dominate the play and quickly get the scoreboard ticking over again with Kriss (Hines) Hardman shortly follwed by Kudzai Phiri both get tries.
More subs on in the form of Scotty Farlam and Phil Simon to give some playing time to all in this friendly. Tom Roche is disappointed he can't get on with a niggly groin strain keeping him to physio duties on the day - "I'm feckin playing against High Wycombe" is heard to be mumbled on several occassions.
Again, A's work well in the loose and a well worked back line move that sees club legend Phil Simon in space with ball in hand scoot up the right wing and score.
Noteable performances from Gareth Perrins doing the dogged dirty stuff in the loose, Xavier at scrum having keeping the Dunstable defence stretched with quick ball, TJ scaring the opposition with his hard running and Jack Benson making his debut at 12 when usually playing openside flank and last but not least Seb Moore the young Colt who bagged 4 tries on the day - with a bit more experience and luck he could have had 6!!
