After a late Friday night/early Saturday morning pitch marking session and gazebo erecting, we were almost prepared for the arrival of LOTS of keen young Tag rugby players. The future!
8 pitches, 8 new balls and 18 teams in total, from Aylesbury, Amersham & Chiltern, Buckingham, Drifters, High Wycombe and Milton Keynes.
The weather was great. The Tag rugby of a very good standard all round. The games were not scored, with the referees coaching the two sides during play, but two TREDS awards were up for grabs. The Two Teams that showed the best TREDS values were. to be Nominated by all the match referees. All teams got votes for TREDS values. With Teams from Buckingham and Aylesbury receiving the most votes and earning the awards. All the players earned a Festival medal. The most rewarding aspect of the whole day was seeing all the children having fun and playing in the right way.
All the Aylesbury players were amazing. Tagging, Finding space and scoring lots!
The Club are very proud and I am sure all the parents are too.
Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers, car park attendants, pitch Marshalls, Referees, the parents and of course the Players that made the day a special one.
Next week is the LAST training session of the year. Hope to have a family BBQ as well afterwards AGW.
