We had a great turn out for the Buckingham RFC Minis Festival this Sunday.
Firstly I would like to thank those that helped out with the Gazebos. Tracy who collected them and all those that helped put them up and take them down.
Thanks to Andrew for coaching Aylesbury 1. Great job.
Thank you to all that attended, we took 25 keen players, 2 mixed ability squads. All got equal game time. All had fun.
If your child did not get their Festival medal, please let me know, I have 3 spare as some left a bit early.
I can honestly say that the children were brilliant, they all played really well and showed great teamwork, skill and determination.
Their behaviour and respect was great and they all represented Aylesbury RFC impeccably. Cyprian and Leo had the honour of collecting the medals for the two squads.
After the first game of ‘find the try line’, the players realised the pitches were a bit bigger and the lines in Blue rather than white. Once that was clear they starting looking for the space and some astounding rugby was played.
Going forward the support play was great, passing was good and footwork was sublime at times. In defence some of the tagging was amazing. We achieved the maximum 7 tags on several occasions. Great pressure, all the players working well as a team.
I have said before that all the players are capable. They are all growing in confidence and they love playing matches, especially against other clubs.
We are encouraging hitting space, rather than players. The players will get enough tackling practice in the years to come!
It is great to see friendships growing, smiles on the players faces as much as their improving skills and knowledge.
You can all be very proud of your ARFC Players. We certainly are.
The future is bright, the future is Magenta and Black. ;)
Training as usual this Sunday 8th October, 10.00 hrs. @ ARFC
