A Dominant Performance from ARFC U15s
Running rugby, tries aplenty and good spirit to usher in the new year
On a cold winter morning with the frost just beginning to disappear from our plastic pitch, the teams began to “warm up” or in other words, prevent freezing. However, Aylesbury’s usual readiness was still apparent when the two teams prepared for kick-off with the promise of 60 minutes of pure rugby ahead. Milton Keynes kicked off and immediately Aylesbury began to attack the gaps and started putting people through into space with ease.
After some great link play through the backs, as drilled in by the coaches at training, Aylesbury soon were in, for what would be the first of many tries. As the game progressed so did the pace and it seemed as though Milton Keynes were unable to contain this pressure. Fittingly this led to more tries including a hat-trick from fly-half Archie Rainbow. As always the forwards put in a massive shift, constantly supporting and hitting every breakdown.
However huge credit is owed to the spirit of the Milton Keynes team as they decided see out the full 60 minutes, even when they were 50 points down and offered the chance to finish the match early. This match performance will hopefully translate into next week’s crucial match against a
very strong Beaconsfield side in a bout for the top spot in the league. Final score: Aylesbury 60-0 Milton Keynes
