Bisons 10 Folkestone 24

The first five minutes of play showed the Bison's statement of intent with several fine tackles on the Folkestone forwards with Sam S in the thick of it. As play progressed it became clear that the teams were pretty well matched although mostly fought in the Bison's half. However a momentary lapse allowed a Folkestone surge towards the posts. Harry L made an excellent tackle almost on the line and even managed to bring the carrier down on his back exposing the ball. Folkestone reacted quicker to the exposed ball though, grabbed it and put it down for a try. Conversion was missed.

Although the Folkestone pack were a bit larger the Bison's matched up to them and out fought them winning most, if not all of the Bison scrums, and securing several against the head. The Bisons though were a little slower at moving the ball forward than Folkestone and so although Folkestone took less possession from these moves they were able to make them count. Just before halftime Folkestone broke away and scored another try which was converted.

The second half started with strong Bison possession and clearly a growing belief in themselves that they could still win this game. Several phases of Bison play resulted in Guiliano haring down the pitch and touching down for an excellent try. The conversion attempt was close but sadly not close enough.

As play continued the Bisons continued to work the scrum well and compete strongly in the lineout but a missed tackle allowed another try down on the left wing. Folkestone had their kicking boots on an secured the conversion.

Heads didn't drop for a moment though and the Bisons continued to fight
back. In the final moment of play Bisons forced their way up to the
Folkestone's try line. A ruck ensued, strong work from Dan, Jordie grabbed the ball and dived over the line for a great team try.

This was a game played in fine spirit by both teams. The Bisons may have lost but they should feel proud of their performance with a lot of positives to take away from this and to build upon.
