Kent Cup Finalists

Kent Cup Finalists image

80 minutes of Rugby over 4 qualifying matches. 17 tries for, 10 conversions, 105 points. 1 charge down try against.

Bulls stats on an almost faultless day of Rugby at a sunny and cold Kent Qualifiers speak for them self.

An immaculate and at times sublime set of performances catapulted Bulls into the set-piece Kent Cup Finals to play TJs who pipped Sevenoaks to get the right to Face Bulls to vie for the right to call themselves Kent champions.

A day when every member of the squad was required to deliver 100%. And 100% is what was delivered. Fitness levels were amazing as the stresses and demands of an 8 hour day of intense competition took their toll on all but the strongest squads. All aspects of the Bulls repertoire clicked . The single score against , by a fortunate charge-down from Sidcup proved to be a turning point as Bulls in round 2 had to come from behind. Scoreless after 8 minutes of the 20 , Bulls dug deep and prevailed to win the match 33-5 , 5 tries in 12 minutes leaving an utterly stunned Sidcup to depart the pitch. No mean feat against a side whom eventually reached the plate (second place) final.

Bring on TJs . Bulls ecstatic to be underdogs. Time to see who are the Daddys.

Extract from the tournament Organisers:

Good evening everyone, I hope you all had a good day at Combe today and enjoyed the Rugby, of which there seemed to be plenty of quality on display.

My congratulations to Aylesford Bull ‘A’ and Tonbridge Juddians ‘A’ who will go on to contest the Cup Final

Sidcup and Old Colfeians who will go on to contest the Plate Final

Maidstone and Beccahamians who will go on to contest the Bowl Final

Well done to all the squads who competed. It was fraught towards the end with time getting on, injuries taking their toll and a shortage of referees, but we got there in the end.

Please pass on my thanks to ALL the referees who helped out today….lets hope we don’t have a Mothers Day clash again as that certainly didn’t help. We can’t hold these without their assistance and support, so thank you again.
