This season Annual Membership fees for Aylestone Athletic RFC have been set at £30.
However,
If you pay before the 1st of October 2014 you will only have to pay £20 Annual Membership.
The £20 payments must be made in full before this date. This offer expires on the 1st of October and thereafter Annual Membership returns to £30. So get that payment in early and save yourself a tenner!!
Why not pay £10 in August and then £10 in September to spread the cost?
For payments in cash please pay direct to Jonathan Hunt (Treasurer). If you wish to make a bank transfer then please contact Jonathan Hunt for bank details.
This is unbelievable value for money compared to almost all other sports clubs, social clubs or fitness schemes where you would expect to pay many times more for an annual membership.
Why do I have to pay annual membership?
You just do, OK?!
It's an unfortunate fact of life that having fun = spending money.
The Ath is in a great position in that we do not have many overheads (No grounds to maintain, no bar to run, no staff to employ etc), as a result of this we can offer you rugby club membership at such a low price. I can guarantee that very few other clubs in Leicester could offer you what we offer for £30 a year.
The club needs this money in order to pay the few overheads that we do have. Pitch and changing room hire needs to be paid up front at the beginning of the season. Social events (tours, annual dinner, coach trips) need to be paid well in advance as well as other fees including insurances etc.. and of course importantly putting aside large amounts of money for beer/entertainment.
What do I get in return for this £30 annual membership?
What about match fees?
Match fees will remain at:
So why do I pay £5 match fees as well as membership
Match fees make up the extra money required for match specific costs. This includes the washing of kits after games and also the purchase of food from the old horse to feed both home and away teams.
These costs could be covered by increasing the annual membership as some clubs do, but that would be an unfair burden on members who do not or cannot play regularly. If you play every week it is only fair that you contribute more to the running of the club, after all it is you who is eating the food and making the shirts dirty (and also consuming the free beer)!
