This year Aylestone Athletic R.F.C are raising money for LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice

The rugby season may be over, however Aylestone Athletic RFC are not going to be idle for too long with Club Members Jon Hunt, Matt Gunnell, Andrew Johnstone, Edward Webb, and Martin Halsall undertaking a bicycle ride from Leicester to Skegness on Saturday 03 Jun 2017 as part of the Clubs charity work during 2017.

The arduous trip, of approximately 84, is being made in aid of LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice. For those of you that don't know, LOROS is an amazing hospice that provides free care for adults (and their families) who are living with cancer and terminal illnesses.. They provide direct inpatient, outpatient and community care and collaborate with local health authorities to up-skill health professionals - enabling greater care in the Leicestershire area.

For every £1 that is raised for LOROS, 91p goes towards patient care.

Everyone knows that rugby boys are not usually built for cycling and the sturdy gentlemen of 'The Ath' are no exception. Taking on such a long journey is a slightly different challenge to the normal 80 min plod around Victoria Park, and will be a real challenge for the guys taking part, however the aim is for us to raise at least £500 for such a good cause.
