Playing down the pronounced Kirkstall slope in the first half the Jenny Laners went behind to a a try from the host's full back after just 4 minutes.Stand-off Jake Duxbury missed two shots at goal on 10 and 21 minutes but made amends with a try on 25 minutes but failed to improve his effort in difficult kicking conditions.
With the scores level 5-5 at half time the Jenny Laner's half time chat was to try cut out the many uncharacteristic errors and loss of possession which had prevented them from gaining any momentum in a scrappy first half.
However with the rain starting to fall and conditions worsening the Jenny Laners continued to struggle and went behind to a penalty on 47 minutes when prop Pete Lowth was penalised for entering the side of the ruck.
In-form flanker Tom Craven's introduction proved pivotal and the hardworking flanker's efforts were rewarded when he picked the right line through a congested ruck to touch down on 65 minutes.However a further penalty from the home side left Baildon trailing 10-11 with just 10 minutes to go.
Relentless pressure on the Burley line eventually resulted in a Baildon penalty under the posts which full-back Jarrod Huss kicked over on 75 minutes to give the Jenny Laners a scrappy but very welcome win.
News after the game that second-placed Goole had beaten leaders Old Rishworthians means that Baildon need nine points from their remaining three fixtures to gain promotion to Yorkshire division 2.
