Luke Gregson's men face a tough assignment when they will travel to Hellenic League Premier Division outfit Flackwell Heath in the Extra Preliminary Round. Our opponents, based just outside High Wycombe, have won the title and finished third in the past two seasons at Step 5.

They will be under new management this term though as last season's number two Paul Shone takes the reins from Graham Malcolm, who has been manager for the past three campaigns.

The tie takes place on Saturday 6th August and should we be fortunate enough to see off Flackwell Heath, we will again be away in the Preliminary Round. Cogenhoe United of the United Counties League or Berkhamsted, whom we play in the Herts Charity Shield on 2nd August, is the reward for the victors.

FA VASE

Town will also be competing in this season's FA Vase and they have an appetising local derby to look forward to, when they will travel to neighbours Langford on Saturday 10th September.

The Forde Park club are also under new management this term, with Jason Penman taking the reins alongside Phil Childs. Penman led Kent Athletic to the SSML Division Two title last season and it will be interesting to see if he can bring that level of success to his new club.

The prize for victory is a trip to Eastern Counties League Long Melford in the next round. The Stoneylands-club are no strangers to us having met them in the same round a couple of seasons ago. Town won an epic 4-3 at Top Field that day, but Melford have moved on to Step 5 since then and finished a creditable 9th last term.
