Busy weekend at Academy

United mini soccer boys continue to set the pace at IFA SSG evenings

The u14s and u15s were in action in Ballymena on Saturday morning coming up against two of the province’s top sides in their age groups in Glentoran and Coleraine. Defeats but no disgrace as the groups continue to develop plying their trade on the National stage every week. The under 13s were in friendly action against the Glens, the 12s had another free week, the 11s were in Belfast while the 10s and U9s had two sides each in action in the Harry Gregg North West League. Some tremendous football from both sky blue academy sides here, the 9s had already been in action at the IFA SSG on Friday evening, with a hot goalscoring display against Larne Youth. The sky blues 2011 and 2012 groups were also in action here, special mention to the younger group, our ‘12s (see pic) play up a year on these games every Friday night and once again impressed all watching as they scored a raft of goals against the older sides.
These boys are still at mini soccer but the SSG initiative is helping their all round games develop massively. Well done lads!!
