Match Day Comments: Forster Plate Final

The 2014/15 rugby season culminates today for the 3rd XV with the final of the Forster Plate. In what has been a mixed season with some poor
performances interspersed with some more combative games this provides a welcome climax to the season. The 3rd XV has been the nursery team in the Club introducing many of the young players to senior rugby and it is good to see this present group rewarded for their effort and commitment.

The form book would appear to favour Instonians as in the two previous meetings this season in the league they have won both games by reasonably comfortable margins. However as in most sports cup games are one offs and today’s Ballymoney side are confident that they can reserve these score lines. Having lost the Robinson Cup to Coleraine this year it would be nice to replace the silverware in the trophy cabinet. Victory or defeat we wish for a good game and an injury free game for all the players.

I would like to give a big thank you to all those who have supported or sponsored the 3rd XV throughout the season especially today’s sponsors for the Polo-shirts and training tops. It is great to see local business
supporting local sport.

Thank you to those who came along to the previous games to cheer us on and especially to all spectators who have travelled to Ballyclare today. Here is hoping we give them something to cheer about.
