Neil Crowe hailed Bamber Bridge’s victory over Northwich Victoria on Saturday as one of the best performances of the season.

I would rank that performance along side Spennymoor away when we won 6-1
- Neil Crowe, Manager

Brig won 2-0 against a defensively sound Northwich Victoria side, who sit in third place in the Evo-Stik North Division One.

Vics have only conceded 29 goals in their 30 games but on Saturday they couldn’t handle the pace and power of Ally Waddecar, Simon Wiles and Darren Green.

Brig now sit sixth in the table and are only out of the play-off places on goal difference.

Crowe said: “I honestly thought we passed them off the park.

“I would rank that performance along side Spennymoor away when we won 6-1.

“Everybody was absolutely superb but, in particular, our back four were solid.

“What pleases me is that we scored two very good goals.

“Northwich are a very hard side to break down but we showed quality with Ally Waddecar and Simon Wiles’ goals.

“For me the most pleasing thing is being able to watch the lads play like they do, as I think they play the right way.

“Saturday was a really entertaining game and I hope the fans thought that as well.”

Brig are back on the road on Saturday as they travel to Yorkshire to face fellow play-off chasers Farsley AFC.

Crowe welcomed back Fleetwood Town loanee Michael Muscat to the starting XI on Saturday, while another positive from the Vics game saw all players escape without injury.

Farsley are without a win in three and tonight, Tuesday, take on Lancaster City in the Doodson Cup.

Crowe is more than confident his side can go to Throstle Nest on Saturday and claim all the points.

“Our tails are up and we will be looking to win the game,” he said.

“If we play like we did on Saturday we can beat any side, it’s a good league this year and it has plenty of quality in it

“Curtis Thompson has improved us and I think we have three of the best midfielders in the league in Matty Kay, Curtis and Paul McKenna.

“Our next two games after Farsley are massive too.

“But then again, every game is at this stage of the season.

“Our aim is to finish in the play-offs, and we now we are capable of doing it.”
