George Hodgson looks ahead to Tuesday night's play-off semi final against Tadcaster Albion.

Our season is alive, and our destiny is in our hands
- Neil Reynolds, BBFC Manager

After nine long and gruelling months of football, just two games stand in Bamber Bridge’s way, with promotion the aim for Neil Reynolds’ side.

Brig have been dealing at the business end of the table all season and now have a one-legged semi-final and final to play under their own roof, should they beat Tadcaster Albion this Tuesday night.

Having sealed fourth spot in the league, a home advantage has been secured in the Play-Offs, as Brig look to join the already promoted South Shields, Scarborough Athletic & Hyde United in the Evo-Stik Premier.

It has been a season to remember regardless of what happens over the next week, but it would be the icing on the cake for a group of players and management team who have succeeded all season long.

Brig beat Tuesday’s opponents 3-1 earlier in the season at home, but also suffered their heaviest defeat of the season in the reverse fixture towards the end of March.

Neil Reynolds’ men will be under no illusions heading into Tuesday’s semi-final, and the task that is at hand when they lock horns with a more than capable Tadcaster outfit.

One thing that is in Brig’s favour is their home form – they have been a force at home all season, beaten just once in the league.

That will be the motivation for the hosts on Tuesday night, who come into the huge match having equalised late in the day against Atherton Collieries last time out.

Last season saw a mid-table finish for Reno and the boys, so this campaign has been a massive improvement which is a credit to all involved.

The squad is something the Brig manager has spoken highly of for the past nine months, in terms of hunger and desire but also quality.

Players have come and gone, but over the course of the season they have all played their part in what everyone connected with Brig will be hoping turns out to be one to remember.

All the hard work that has been put in has got the side to where they are today, and it is now about going out and showing everyone why they are where they are, insists the gaffer.

“Our season is alive, and our destiny is in our hands,” said Reno. “I’ve said to the lads unfortunately I can’t take the pressure away from you.

“People want to win games of football, we’ve achieved our objective and we’ve got to go and do it now on Tuesday night.

“We’ve just got to go and give a really good account of ourselves and hopefully the footballing quality will show, and we’ll do enough to get ourselves into the final.”
