Current Open Age secretary Dave lane has kindly agreed to take over the reigns as Chairman, this is a very important step for the club and one I personally welcome, as open age coach I have worked closely with Dave over the last 18 months and know the passion and committment he will bring to his new role, I personally believe it also helps that he has no ties to any of the Bulldog teams, so will be able to tackle all aspects in a very unbiased fashion.
Also joining us is Mel Winder as our new club welfare officer, this is a must for all junior rugby league clubs, her role is to ensure that players and coaches are operating in a safe enviroment, briefly this means making sure we have adequate first aid cover, coaches are crb checked and we are using safe practices across the club, she has also agreed to take on the role of funding manager a role which will see her applying for the many funding opportunitys that are out there, I know Mel has been itching to get involved in the club to right some wrongs, so I welcome her input over the coming months as a committee member.
The Bulldog committee is now made up of the following people.
Chairman -Dave Lane
Secretary-Michelle Sumner
Treasurer-Geanette Brown
Head Coach-Lee Sumner
Club Welfare Officer/Funding manager-Mel Winder
I am also please to announce the following people have volunteered to go on the touchline managers course Geanette Brown u13, Matt Mayor u12 and Rebecca Cavies u9, also Pat Hothersall u12, Hannah Hothersall u9 and Conrad Stott u13 have kindly agreed to go on the RFL first aid course.
Getting volunteers for any club is one of the most difficult tasks, I know all these people have one common goal and that is for the Bulldogs club to grow and become a permant fixture for years to come, I hope you join me in welcoming them along and trust in their judgements that they will have to make for our club to continue on an upward curve.
