Club Chairman John Colegrave was expecting a busy day but even he was staggered that Bodicote Park was bursting at the seams. He said: “It was an absolute delight to see so many youngsters enjoying their sport in the fresh air, and being so well supported by their families too.

“All credit must go to our Youth Chair Keith Oakes, and his organising team, for shoehorning over 1,100 cars and nearly 4,000 people into Bodicote Park.”

For the Club’s long-suffering ground-staff the overnight and morning rain saw the pitches, walkways and car parking areas really suffer. It is going to mean a very busy summer repairing the damage and to be ready for next season.
