Scrum And Have A Go is a 3 hour coaching workshop designed to be available and accessible to Junior players of all levels and abilities.

The competitive scrum is what makes rugby union unique. There is a need to provide suitable training sessions to all players, not just those identified as forwards.

This is particularly relevant in the younger age groups where physical changes can happen very quickly and players that were previously backs may be more suited to playing in the scrum.

If players have undergone the Scrum & Have A Go workshop then they will have the confidence to give playing in the scrum a go.

Learning the correct body shape and how to develop it is also important in all aspects of contact in rugby - tackling, rucking and mauling. Even those players who are never going to play in the scrum will also benefit from the practices in the session.

This session is open to 13 to 18 year old boys and girls and no previous experience is required. With a heavy emphasis on developing individual body position younger players can work with older players, allowing the opportunity for peer coaching and competition.
