Come and enjoy this family fun day as the two clubs go head-to-head for the Barrie Nichols Trophy. Sunshine (!), sport, BBQ and maybe even a bar...
As many Members will be aware, Barrie Nichols was a great friend and supporter of sport in the town. Since his passing, his two favourite clubs have competed for a trophy named in his honour.
The three competitions to date have involved Cricket, Skittles and Golf with Banbury Cricket Club winning the first two but Banbury Rugger Club being the current holders of the Trophy having won the Golf.
The next head-to-head is scheduled to take place on The Jubilee Bank Holiday Monday and will involve three ‘sports’:
1. Touch Rugby
2. Tug ‘o’ war
3. Cricket
As you might imagine, timings for the day are pretty ‘fluid’. However, arrival at the cricket club for 12 noon is advised and both the bar and BBQ will be open all day. The meat has very kindly been donated by Wykham Park Farm Shop.
If you wish to represent the Rugger Club in any of the above events, please contact either Monty at PhilMontanaro@aol.com or Ed Phillips at Ed.Phillips@swangroup.co.uk
Spectators and supporters are of course very welcome to come along and enjoy the BBQ, drinks and a true family atmosphere.
Banbury Cricket Club is located on Whitepost Road in Bodicote.
