Brief report on the CBS Launch Evening together with downloadable membership forms and share prospectus and share application form

The CBS Steering Group were delighted with the attendance of over 150 at the launch evening which, as with the original open meeting held back in March, they believe shows the enthusiasm that supporters have with the principal of the Community Benefit Society model and by attending in these numbers that this is the way forward for the football club.

Supporters Club Chairman and Steering Group member, Stephen Barlow, detailed the progress made since the last open meeting, pointing out that they were close to final transfer of the club to a CBS but with a couple of items still to be provided to meet various regulatory requirements before this could finally be effected.

Specific items of interest to come out of the meeting were as follows, all of the following assuming the transfer to the CBS goes ahead promptly:

Admission prices for next season would stay the same as last season i.e. £10 Adults, £5 Concessions and £1 Under 16. (Season Tickets will be available once final transfer to a CBS had been achieved).

It will cost supporters £10 to travel to away games on the team bus next season.

The prices for the home pre-season friendlies would be £5 Adults, £3 Concessions, £1 Under 16.

The Community Benefit Society had got sponsorship pledges of £28,000. The season budget for sponsorship is £40,750 so nearly 70% of that has already been achieved.

An AGM for the Community Benefit Society at which officers and the board would be formally appointed by members would be held in November 2015. In the meantime the Steering Group, now going forward consisting of Stephen Barlow, Mark Allitt, Ronnie Johnson, Dave Wyatt, Nigel Porter, Martin Cantrell and Dave Shadbolt, which would become an interim board on transfer of the club to a CBS, would guide the club to that point.

The primary focus of the evening though was the formal opening of membership to the CBS and to present the opportunity to purchase Community Shares in the CBS. Membership forms and a Community Share & Information Booklet, which included the share application form, were distributed to attendees. For those unable to make the meeting these are downloadable here.

It was emphasised in the unlikely event that the transfer of the club to the CBS was not approved by the authorities then all membership money and money paid for the purchase of community shares would be returned.

There was also a Sponsorship Opportunities Pamphlet distributed. This cannot, due to certain content, be uploaded to club’s website until the transfer to a CBS has been effected but if you want a copy for yourself or to pass it on in PDF format it is available by simply emailing djshadbolt@tiscali.co.uk
