United draw at New Forest but it is not enough to clinch the Championship and they now have a two week wait to find out their final league position

United went in front in the 12th minute through a Rebecca Howard goal but were pegged back by New Forest eight minutes into the second half. Despite responding well to New Forest's equaliser and dominating the last half hour and throwing everything at the opposition in the final fifteen minutes in search of the goal they needed they were unable to find a way through.

United did go close in the last ten minutes. On 80 minutes a Catherine Howse shot from just outside the penalty area went inches over the bar. Three minutes later a corner from the right led to an almighty scramble in the six yard box with the ball being cleared off the line twice and seconds later another corner saw Howse's glancing header go just wide.

United still lead the Southern Region Women's Football League Division One table but have now completed their fixtures for the season and can be overtaken by both Milton Keynes and Marlow who still have one and two games respectively left to play. United thus have to wait two weeks to know their final league position which could be anywhere from 1st to 3rd.
