Puritans to launch on-line Radio Station

Banbury United are delighted to announce that they are launching an online community radio station for the club, Puritans Radio

In anticipation of the Community Benefit Society, Banbury United are delighted to announce that they are launching an online community radio station for the club. Puritans Radio, www.puritansradio.com

Puritans Radio will hit the digital airwaves on Saturday August 8, the start of the brand new football season. It will be run by former Radio Horton, Station Manager, Stewart Green. The station will be run by volunteers on a not for profit basis.

Stewart a well known voice not only on Radio Horton but also at the Spencer Stadium as co-presenter on matchdays, a role he will continue with.

Commenting on the news. Stephen Barlow, from the CBS Steering Group said “This is a great opportunity to promote all sections of the club under one banner. With 33 years of experience in hospital broadcasting, a love of Banbury United and bags of enthusiasm, Stewart is just the person for the job”

The station will have live coverage of Banbury United first team games and follow the other teams connected to the club. With its community feel, it is hoped that several charity and community organisations will become part of the station, promoting their various roles and events.

Stewart said “I really can’t believe it, as one door closed, another one opened, I am bringing together two of my favourite hobbies and interests - Banbury United and Radio, I really couldn’t stay out of radio, and this offers me a marvellous challenge to create something good for Banbury.”

If you are interested in volunteering for Puritans Radio, Stewart is looking for a news team, presenters and anyone willing to help run an online community radio station.
