Slough are newcomers to the Southern League Premier Division this season after their promotion through the play-offs from Division One Central at the end of last season. Of course, they have played at this level previously in the Isthmian League and at a much higher level having had a couple of spells in the Conference in the 1990s.
They beat us 2-1 at Holloways Park, the home of Beaconsfield SYCOB with whom they are currently groundsharing, back in August and were leading by the same score-line at the Spencer Stadium in October when the original game was abandoned
United go into the game knowing that victory will take their relegation battle to the wire on the last day of the season at Chesham United next Saturday. United are currently six points behind Frome Town who must be overhauled if they are to stay up. However, Frome have just one game remaining whilst United have two, thus wins for United tonight and at Chesham and a defeat for Frome at home to play-off chasing St Neots Town this Saturday will see both sides finishing level on points. Whilst Frome's goal difference is currently better by four goals, it will only need for Banbury to win one of their two games by more than a one goal margin or Frome to lose their game by more than a one goal margin to turn it around as United have scored more goals.
United are expected to have the same squad as did service on Saturday
Banbury United (Likely Squad): Leigh Bedwell, Jacob Daffern, Marvin Martin, Joel Meade, Jack Westbrook, Tom Ryan, Jordan Green, Shepherd Murombedzi, Leam Howards, Kynan Isaac, Hicham Abdellah, Jacob Walcott, Luke Cray, Carl Tappin, Darius Browne, Tom Fishwick.
Slough will be missing centre-half Reece Yorke, striker Scott Harris and winger Jake Parsons who are all suspended.
