On Saturday 30th April, six teams competed with lots of skill at Banff RFC U16 7s Tournament.

Due to late call offs the organizers had to update the round robin format, which lead to the tournament being played on full sized pitches.

Banff academy managed to get a team together to play at the Banff 7's event. The team had three hours of coaching with Teacher Dougie Reid and Club Coach Alan Elphinstone. The team had great attacking skills, offloads and managed to score some tries against experienced oppositions.

Ellon (pictured below) won the league, with the final game 38-14, against a strong challenge from second placed Aberdeen Wanderers.

Thanks to Kenway Tyre Services Aberdeen for sponsoring the event and thanks to everyone that came along to help.

Well done to everyone that played, it was a fantastic day and we hope to see you back down at Banff at some point in the near future.

Banff will hold their Senior Charity 7s on Saturday 14th May, with a 1200 KO for both men and women's teams.
