Bangor rugby club are holding a charity rugby day at Upritchard Park, to raise funds
for local and international charities, the main benefactor will be Doddie Weir's
charity, "My Name’5 Doddie Foundation", as well as the Lao Rugby federation Pass It Back
programmes, and also Clifton school in Bangor as our local charity for this event.
We are having a 6 team round robin tournament, of which one team would be the
touring legends team. The other 5 teams will consist of 20 players of which three
must be over 50. Each player will pay a £20 registration fee, and teams will play each
other in 20 minute games, with 10 minutes each way.
There will be a dinner in the clubhouse afterwards which will feature a Q & A with some of the past international players taking part.
This event is suitable for all the family - there will be bouncy castles, climbing frames and
much more, plus for the older kids a great chance to meet all the rugby stars of
yesteryear and maybe get a chance to play against your favourite rugby stars of the
past, and get autographs and photos.
You have an opportunity to play with the legends, there are 5 openings for
sponsored club players to play in the legends team, the cost would be £300. This
would include a playing kit plus a sponsors logo on the arm of the legends kit.
