Puddy hits hatrick in impressive away day victory!!

Banwell travelled to Cleeve hoping to keep up there impressive form and started the brighter of the two sides and their were early signs that the cleeve defence were going to struggle to cope of the pace of the front three of Bebber , May and Underhill. The pressure eventually shown when great midfield link up play from daniels and Underhill saw may one on one with the goalkeeper to coolly slot home putting the away side one up. Banwell continued to have the majority of possession throughout the first half and when the ball was sprayed out to the left wing , Mat Bebber beat the right back with ease to cross an inviting ball with Puddy making no mistake with a bullet header to lead 2-0 at half time.

Cleeve failed to create much as Banwell were just to strong. The Midfiled three of Owen, Daniels and puddy were keeping the ball well and round about the 60th minute mark the ball was played into Puddys feet who then turned and shot from almost 25 yards out right into the top left corner the leaving the Cleeve keeper with no chance. Banwell made changes bringing on the hard working russell and smith and shortly after ash white who had the most impressive 15 minutes in a banwell shirt to date!

A rare lapse in concentration from the Banwell defence saw cleeve score to make it 3-1 but it only proved to be a consolation after a bebber run and strike saw the ball hit the hand of a cleeve defender for Puddy to complete his hat trick from the spot. Banwell had alot more great chances one a 30 yard effort from Evans hitting the upright. The ref then had no option but to award a second Penalty for a clear foul on Russell after taking on 2 defenders and being brought down in the box, Bebber stepped up to coolly finish to make the final score 5-1 Banwell.

A Great team performance and some tremendous football from Banwell , special mentions for Scott Daniels and Jason Potter who were soild all game.

The Brewers Arms Man of the match goes to Mark Puddy for his three great finishes and brilliant work rate.
