Unbelievable Jeff!

Bare blast themselves to the divisional final.

Both Carnforth 'A' and Bare fielding weakened teams due to the footy final (shame England weren't there!), once again Bare lost the toss and were asked to bowl on another sunny afternoon. Pearcy (16) got off to a good start but was caught by Cook off the bowling of Archy (1/24). Burrows removing the other opener with a good catch off the bowling of Albon (1/35) as Carnforth eyeing the short boundary. Good tight middle bowling swung the game Bare's way from White (2/9) and Cook (2/16) with Holmes (16) the only batter to put up resistance. Catches from Burrows again, 2 for Nev and one from Paraparaparapainter saw Carnforth 'A' slump to 72 for 8 off 15. Nice swing bowling from the you Copsey (2/24). Potter (11) the only middle order batter scoring in double figures. The death batting of Carnforth 'A' turned the game as Kitchen hit a sensible 54 not out aided by Baxendale (13 not out) seeing then to 129 for 8 off the allocated 20 overs and an unbeaten 57 run ninth wicket partnership.
Bare started slowly with some accurate bowling form the Carnforth openers but they accelerated well to keep close to the rate. White (21 again!) was caught behind by Bragg off Kitchen (1/16). Burrows was dropped for 6 which gave Bare impetus to press the accelerator. Bhardwaj (23) was hitting the bad ball well as he put on a 50 partnership with Burrows until his YAHOO shot off Thornton (1/23) saw the back of him! Burrow's then passing 50 again in the cup and him as they saw off Carnforth 'A' with 4 overs to spare. Burrows ending up with an unbeaten 66 aided by Cook (9 not out). A good team performance sees Bare through to the final against Sedgewick after they beat Westgate at the same time so we could all watch the World Cup Final (or possibly not now!). I hope Phil is as it's currently 1-1 in a good neutrals game!!!
