After a rare rain spell, Cross Hill Park was ready for action at 2:50 with some great foreman work from Oz. Netherfield 3s won the toss and elected to bat. Redding (9) got a start but the opening spell from Albon (2-11) and Oz proved to be devastating. Albon removing the opener with a snorter of a delivery. Oz got in on the act as he removed the other opener and then ripped through the top middle order batters including a stunning slip catch from 'Fat Mat.' Resistence in the lower middle order from Atkinson (18 not out) and Hogan (13) was in vein as Oz claimed his 5th wicket for 29 runs. Cook (3-9) came on and again shaved off stump but not removing the bails. He went on to remove the Netherfield tail with the opposition scoring 61 including a comedy stop and man overboard from Craigo!
After captain teas Bare took only 5.3 overs to knock the total off with contributions from Bhardwaj (20) who threw his wicket away after some lovely stroke play. Then the 'looks good in nets, 6 off the first ball' Schad (17) and lusty blows form Martin (28 not out) ensured Oz could go fishing and Lee could attempt for baby number 5! Great to see the Bransby collective in the stands. No game next week for the Bare Express but the next game isn't till early June vs Kirkby Lonsdale. Right, peace out and listen to Beyond Radio from 2-4 on Sunday for the sports hours in the local round up of WCL for some shout outs from DjMc!
