Bare Bludgened by league leaders
Sedgewick do the double over sorry Bare.
Losing the toss, Bare were asked to bowl in sunny conditions at Cross Hill Park. Sedwick got off to a mixed start with strong batting, putting away the lose ball but Albon (3/46) removing 2 strong batters early on. Bracken (43) motored towards a half centaury until a good catch from Cook removed him. The young Copsey (2/33) then got in on the act as Sedwick were reduced to 79 for 5 off 20 overs. White (1/46) got the other wick with smart catches from Archy and a one off appearance from Marcy B. WIlson rode the good bowling and edged closer to a half centaury with Evans (27) blasting the ball to all parts until Bhardwaj (3/33) bowled pace (should have bowled spin!). Albon and Nev with catches to assist and more good fielding from Jay lad. Kilshaw (13) saw Wilson to his half centaury as Sedewick were 148 for 8. Dalzell (15) helped get Sedwick towards 200 which was achieved in the last over with Wilson hitting a good unbeaten 75.
After Chelle's teas (and no corned beef hash!) White (21) and Leamon (12) got Bare off to a solid start until Bracken snaffled one behind. Hanson (2/10) got in the act with removing the other Bare opener with a simple catch from Wilson. Kilshaw (2/19) then ripped through the middle order as Bare were 70/5 after 20 overs (just 9 runs behind Sedgewick). One of the numerous Bransby's (17) battled away until Evans then went on a devastating spell of bowling. 85/6 became 106 all out with no other batter scoring double figures. Evans ending up with 6 for 27 and giving the league leaders a 101 run victory. Bare will have to pull themselves round for tomorrows semi-final at Carnforth. Back to it next week away at Penrith 2s.
