seniors just lose out in semi final

Ist team`s long journey with 14 players nearly pays off.

Bulldogs travel with 13 men and pick up 1 player on way after a begging phone call. In torrential rain it was always going to be a tough battle and with only one sub a big ask from the players.
Bulldogs started slowly and where 10 - 0 after 15 mins, justified punnisment for failing to match St Ives intenisty, bulldogs then woke up and finish the first half the far better team going in 12 - 10 leaders.

The second half starting the same as first with St Ives big pack and very well drilled team causing a tiring bulldogs team now down to a bare 13 after injury to scott floyd to make silly mistakes in are own red zone and gift the ball back to St Ives who score 4 trys to take a commanding lead.
The game could have easily run away from bulldogs but we finish the stonger team and shock the hosts with a great fight back and scored two great trys but just ran out of time and energy.
the final score was st ives 38 - bulldogs 20
A fantastic performance from the 14 guys who played there hearts and if we had a strong bench I am sure we would have taken something out of this game.
thanks scatty.

A big thanks to all 14 who travelled. I'm under no illusion that with another few players agreeing to travel we could be celebrating a final appearance but credit to St Ives who were the strongest squad on the day and all the best in the final!
