Barking under 7's produced their second win of the day against a brilliant Ilford side.
Barking 55 V Ilford 25
Both teams came out firing on all cylinders, neither wanting to loose the second match of the day, and all were tagging as hard as they could.
Barking were the first to break the deadlock with a try from Mandell, and not to be outdone by their team mate, Dawkins and Batstone followed suit.
Ilford made a charge for the line and caught the home team on the hop and ran in a try of their own. Despite their best efforts, Barking proved to be a little too strong towards the end of the first half, and Mandell ran in another try and Batstone a further two before the break.
Ilford seemed to have recharged their batteries during the break and were hungry to close the deficit, by scoring two try's back to back. Barking answered this with try's from Mandell and Batstone. Fantastic team work and tagging from Deasey, Dawkins and Dawson halted a renewed attack from Ilford, allowing Batstone the opportunity to score again. Ilford regrouped and made a fresh attack and were rewarded with another try for their score sheet. Barking turned up the pressure once again and ran in another two tries (from Dempsey and Silva-Pileade) before Ilford crossed the White line again at the final whistle.
