Draw At Needham
Barkingside fought back from behind to earn a creditable 2-2 draw at Needham Market, whose squad contained some notable former Ipswich & Colchester players.
The Suffolk side took the lead when former Ipswich and Leeds midfielder Ian Westlake scored. Barkingside soon equalised when Calvin Poku was able to bundle home.
Barkingside then took the lead when Andy Edmunds smashed home to spark wild celebrations with supporters, and the team did well to contain the Needham attack to go into half time 2-1 up.
Needham Market did however equalise when debutant Ryan Crisp smashed home a shot under goalkeeper Chris Clark to level.
Barkingside's defence put in a good shift and tirelessly worked hard to contain the attack. Brian Suchley and Matt Gulfer had opportunities for a third goal but the whistle went and the team returned to London with a point
