A penalty from Rob Murfet and a header from Elwyn Edwards but we could have taken all three points near the end of the game.

A small crowd at the Wern on Saturday of probably only 25 frozen souls welcomed back the lads from 2 away victories on the road at Greenfield and Trearddur Bay. The game was a very even affair in the first 30 minutes as both sides struggled with a swirling Easterly wind.
Only Barmouth’s Paul Lewis got close and he couldn’t extricate the ball from his feet inside the 6 yard box after a terrific run from the wing only to pass the ball back to Chris Wilkins and then be offside as he netted the return pass. On 35 minutes another great run down the right saw Lewis’s cross to Rob Murfet not quite find its target.
Llandyrnog then 0 – 1 up as Sion Davies nodded in a cross at the far post and that remained the score at half time.
The second half started much the same as the first with neither side dominating. Then came what felt like the killer penalty to give Llandyrnog a 0 – 2 lead as Mike Lundstrum converted a penalty for a challenge just inside the box. A minute later and Chris Wilkins was caught in a sandwich between the Llandyrnog keeper and a defender and Rob Murfet slotted home for 1 – 2.
In the final 20 minutes Barmouth began to dominate the game as Llandyrnog were limited to breakaway chances. Elwyn Edwards brought the scores level as he headed in a corner on 73 minutes for 2 -2. Edwards then missed the best chance of the last 15 mins as he shot wide from close range on 85 mins. There was still time for Paul Lewis to go close as his shot was deflected wide for a corner on 91 minutes.
The sausage and chips and a pint in the Barmouth after the game brought a nice warm glow to 7 points from the last three games.
