Barmouth picked up from last week’s home performance with Gwalchmai where they attempted to pass their opponents into submission but like last week, battling against a strong headwind in the first half, getting into their opponent’s half of the pitch was a struggle. The strong back four dealt with every threat but midfield weakened by the absence of Stuart Rogers and Dave Linstead, weren’t able to push ahead.
Half-time 0-0 and it looked promising at the start of the second half. The Llandyrnog keeper looked under more threat but the young Alex Evans between the Barmouth sticks still needs more time to build up his confidence, but it will come.
Llandyrnog didn’t come to life until a great inter-passing move between Paul Lewis and Ieuan Brooks resulted in a goal from close to the penalty spot into the keeper’s left hand corner for 1-0 to Barmouth on 62 minutes. Llandyrnog began to apply the pressure and Evans in the Barmouth goal was called upon several times to deny the away side. Llandyrnog’s equaliser finally came with 5 minutes left of normal play with Evans unable to intercept a passing move across goal and Luke Ashley got a deserved equaliser for Llandyrnog on 85 minutes.
The table will look different by Bank Holiday Monday as this is the first of 5 fixtures in 9 days. Don’t know how the kit will get washed that many times!

• Llangefni at Porthmadog on Tuesday, Pwllheli away Thursday, Trearddur Bay home on Saturday and Llanfair PG at home on Bank Holiday Monday.
