Happy New Year
Shed those Xmas pounds ! Who would you pick for England in the 6 nations ?
The committee of the club wish all players/ supporters/ members/ pool team alike the very best for 2012 and hope it will continue to be a successful one.
Although there is no first team game this coming Saturday (7th Jan), the seconds are playing North Shields down on the Demesnes so lets all get down to support them.
Training for all 1st and 2nd team players is at the usual time this Thursday and also please note that Tuesday sessions will resume from 10th Jan onwards.
Lets all get down on the pitches and get in tune for the coming games. With a few more second teamers down we can also concentrate on giving some dedicated practice time for their squad members. Come on down - you know you want to !
With the six nations coming up, please use the website forum to discuss who you think will be the new blood that Stuart Lancaster will be bringing in. For starters - how about Harlequin prop Marler to press for a squad position, Leicester lock Ed Slater is another to watch. Is James Haskell coming back into form, and would you go for Robshaw or Wood in the back row, Care or Youngs or even Joe Simpson at scrum half. Do you think Owen Farrell will get a shot at fly-half this season. IN the backs David Strettle's on fire on the wing at the moment and what about the full back position - Alex Goode, Mike Brown, Ben Foden. What do you reckon ??
