With the Rugby World Cup on the horizon Barnsley RUFC, based at Shaw Lane, are getting there gears in motion and already preparing for the mass occasion. The clubs biggest focus is there forever developing junior section & this year will see our biggest push ever!

NEW U12s & U13s

The aim for the coming season will be to recruit 2 new teams to add to the current Mini section, U14s & U17s already established at Barnsley.

Barnsley Rugby’s Under 12s are looking for players who will be September 2015’s year 7 pupils and will cater for boys and girls of all abilities.

We are pleased to announce that the team will be coached by former players/coaches of the club Gary Butcher and Mark Smith. Training will start on 29th July and fixtures expected to start the 1st week of October.

Barnsley Rugby’s U13s are looking for players who will be September 2015’s year 8 pupils and will cater for boys of all abilities. Any girls that are interested in playing would move to girls only at this age group, we do have teams at Barnsley to join.

This will be headed by Father and son partnership Ian & Adam Marsden. Ian is returning to the youth from finishing in the juniors with last season’s U17s. Adam who is now moving into senior rugby as a player has been involved in the minis set up as a coach/referee and is one to look out for in the future.
