Unauthorised crowd incursions on field of play - South Yorkshire Management Team Statement of Intent:

Following the recent meeting of the South Yorkshire District Management Team the issue of discipline was discussed, urgently and at length.

It has been confirmed that there has recently been a number of unauthorised crowd incursions during age grade fixtures.
This recalcitrant conduct by coaches and spectators has been sufficiently ill-disciplined and offensive that the referees’ representative confirmed to the meeting that,

“If clubs continued to transgress then the Referees Committee would not appoint officials to fixtures at that club.”

At the time of the meeting, of the 4 Yorkshire clubs that were currently under investigation, 2 were from the South Yorkshire District.

In response to this situation the South Yorkshire District Management Team wish to forewarn clubs clearly and unequivocally, that such self-centred and detestable behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

As a member of the county disciplinary committee, the District Chair warned that,

“Such unwanted behaviour by supporters would not be tolerated. ANY Perpetrators would be dealt with by the County Disciplinary Committee with resort to unlimited sanctions for both club and individuals.”

It was also confirmed that these sanctions WILL include deduction of points from first XV’s, where clubs are found to have failed to exercise proper control over teams, coaches or spectators at ANY level of rugby.
