News for all Senior Players

We’re fast approaching the start of our pre-season and things are taking shape nicely. With that in mind we want to update all senior players with the following information.
This Thursday, 9th June, is our initial players meeting and presentation from the coaching team where we will set out our plans and aims for both pre-season and the coming season. The meeting will commence at 7pm and will be preceded by the usual Touch & Pass session at 6-7pm. All senior players are required to attend the meeting. We will be providing food and refreshment for those attending. If anyone is unavailable, please let Apple or Mark know in advance.
Touch & pass will continue on Thursdays from 6-7 as will the Monday boot camp sessions, also 6-7. These are good opportunities for you to complement the training you will be doing in your own time. If you aren’t already on it please start and pick up the pace of your individual fitness work.
Pre-season training starts, slightly earlier than usual, on Tuesday 14th June at 7pm and will be a varied, structured programme. More information will be made available at the players meeting. A date for the diary already, we have arranged our first pre-season fixture for Saturday 20th August away at Lincoln RUFC. We are intending that our second pre-season fixture will be on Saturday 27th August and are hoping that will be the Yorkshire Shield game but are awaiting the draw and then need to make arrangements with our opponents.
Lots of work has been going on behind the scenes but in particular we want to let you know about the work on floodlighting the second team pitch. The intention is that this work will be concluded by September/October but we are working through the details regarding funding, planning permission, technicalities at the moment.
There will be other events to come through the Summer, including the Samurai 7s, annual golf day, vets half pitch event and the traditional backs v forwards cricket match and we will update the website regularly with developments.
Nearly time for getting the boots back on! We want to see all players both new and old at the club as much as possible during the coming months and are looking for a really big effort from everyone. If you’re more interested in the social playing side of things then you will also be well catered for!
If you have any questions please let us know but we look forward to seeing you from Thursday onwards.
Mark (07984 434040) & Apple (07935 490960)
