FC Barometrics go into the Senior Amateur North Cup Final against High Flying Cheltenham Civil Service with nothing to lose.

The Newlands Park side go into their second final of the season (having won the Reg Davis earlier on in the year) as underdogs to their division 1 opponents and will be hoping for a similar outcome.

“if you look at the facts surrounding this game then we are underdogs, they are on a 12 game winning streak, have scored the most goals in the league above by a long way and have one of the best keepers in the county so we know the challenge ahead.. but with that expectation comes pressure so you never know what the night can bring”

With Nick Rhodes unavailable due to not being signed before the quarter final and Mike Rhodes having played for the Saracens in an earlier round aside from long term absentee Mark Connolly Cleal has a full squad to choose from

Slight injury concerns over Rob Reid and Andy Keveren but both are expected to be available for the game. Midfielder Ben Maguire is back having missed the win at the weekend to further add to Cleal options in the middle of the park.

The Newlands Park side have been in fantastic form this season and in 30 competitive games only tasted defeat once winning 24 times in all competitions scoring nearly 100 goals in the process. Both these sides are unbeaten in 2014, it was December 2013 when Winchcombe Town beat them. Whilst November was the last of 5 defeats from 28 games when Minsterworth beat them for Civi and they have won every game since.

Under Cleal the sides have met four times in the league and in the county cup last season and Civil Service have held the advantage over their local rivals winning 3 games (including last seasons cup game) to the Baros 1 with the other ending in a draw.

“They are a bit of a blue print... they won our league two years ago and have performed well in the league above since returning there following the relegation of 2009/10. So we will show them the respect they deserve, their strike force is dangerous and can take a game away from you in an instant and it’s no surprise to see them up there in the goal scoring charts but my lads on are day have proven that we can compete with the best so I’m sure it will be an entertaining game”

Kick off at Bishops Cleeve FC 7pm Wednesday 9th April
