Barry will host its first Welsh League match since the recent 3G pitch installation this Tuesday, as the Town welcome Risca United to Jenner Park.

With recent meetings of the sides proving particularly memorable and 16 goals flying in across the ground's two recent cup ties, a highly-entertaining match is anticipated, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Risca made history at Jenner Park in 2003 by unceremoniously dumping then-Welsh Cup holders Barry out of the famous old competition in front of the BBC TV cameras.

In the years to have passed since, the teams have twice been promoted alongside one another, contesting a series of compelling encounters along the way.

Risca's visit in 2013-14 saw the Cuckoos take a second half lead from the penalty spot, only for ten-man Barry to turn the tables and win 2-1 in what might well have been the match of the season.

However, the subsequent trip to Ty Isaf Park on St. David's Day 2014 would see Barry comprehensively beaten 3-1, despite Dale Howarth's consolation effort around the hour.

In the 2014-15 season, a thrilling first-half at Jenner Park saw the Town again overturn a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1, with Ryan Evans and Curtis Hutson on target in one of the side's key wins of the autumn.

Meanwhile, a late James Dixon goal in Risca later in the campaign steered Barry to a highly-valuable three points on their travels.

The last meeting of the sides to date was a tightly-contested affair, played at the superlative Centre of Sporting Excellence facility in Ystrad Mynach.

That night in August 2015 saw the Town edge out their ever-competitive opponents by a slender 1-0 margin, watched by an enthusiastic crowd of 424.

Another closely-fought encounter is expected this Tuesday evening, with admission via the Barry Road and Gladstone Road turnstiles from 7.15pm.

Supporters on both sides are advised that the Jenner Suite will not be open for this match, as building work is carried out in order to improve the facility.

Entry to the fixture is priced at the regular £5, with concessions for senior citizens, students and children, as well as 2015 club members.
