Club celebrates campaign with annual awards

The club held its End of Season Awards on Friday evening (27 May), with supporters, players, coaches and Barry's boxing brothers among those on hand.

With guests celebrating a season that saw the club achieve a second-placed finish on its return to Welsh League Division One, one of the night's major winners was skipper James Saddler, who lifted the accolades of Players' and Manager's Player of the Season.

The Supporters' Player of the Season trophy meanwhile went to forward James Dixon, who prevailed in the annual fan vote. Dixon, who scored 28 goals across his 30 appearances this past campaign, additionally laid claim to the club's Golden Boot prize.

There were further celebrations for full-back Paul Morgan, with the Barry boy capping another successful season at the club with the Young Player of the Season award.

Elsewhere, Jordan Cotterill was named the Social Media Player of the Year for the most Man of the Match performances, as voted for online via the club's official Twitter account.

In other awards, Louis Feeley scooped the 2015-16 Goal of the Season prize for his long range strike at Garden Village. Furthermore, secretary David Cole was presented with a special award for his Outstanding Contribution to Club Life; another popular winner on the evening.

Finally, a decade's worth of congratulations were reserved for goalkeeper Dan Bradley and defender Lewis Cosslett, who have each spent a full ten seasons now in the Barry senior squad.

A slew of awards were presented by Town coach and Hall of Fame defender Mike Cosslett, with added entertainment from Primo Acoustic Duo and manager Gavin Chesterfield handling compere duties for a discussion with guest champions Lee and Andrew Selby.
