WOMEN’S 1ST TEAM MANAGER

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Women’s First Team Manager to take on the challenge of leading our club in the Genero Adran Premier League for the 2022-23 season.

Our club is currently the largest female setup in Wales with over 230 registered players with a full player pathway from age 6 through to our senior section. As part of our club strategy, we have ambitious targets to achieve by 2026 with a view to challenging at the top end of Tier 1 in Wales as well as continuously improving our elite environment to enable our players and staff to reach their potential. The club has an outstanding track record of player development, with over 30 players progressing into the Wales national junior and youth teams over the past 7 years.

This vacancy will enable the selected candidate to bring in additional staff where appropriate as well as working with our existing coaching staff including working closely with our Head of Youth to support the transition of players between our junior and youth pathway.

Job Purpose
To have overall management of the squad, including leading training sessions, selection of match squads, responsible for the development programme for the team and individual players, ensuring player fitness is maintained.

To liaise with colleagues as appropriate to achieve the highest standards for the team and club, including working with the General Manager to maintain the viability of the club in the short term and secure its future in the long-term.

Work closely with the Head of Youth in respect of the Player Pathway and building relationships with youth teams associated with the club. Must try to recruit the best players possible as well as developing the indigenous talent.
Ensures that the players and coaching staff abide Fair Play and all other Codes of Practice at all times.

Be the main contributor for any media quotes in respect of matches/ player recruitment etc.

Attends meetings, events and training on behalf of the Club as is required and is proactive in personal Coach Education Development.

Person Specification

Suitable candidates must:

  • Hold an FAW/UEFA A Licence or be a current A-Licence candidate
  • Be able to attend 2x weekly training sessions (Tues & Thurs) and matches on Sunday’s
  • Have experience within the female game (desirable)
  • Be an excellent communicator, with strong management and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
