Four Barry players represent Wales U15's in Portugal

1 month ago By Barry Town Utd Ladies FC

The club were delighted to have four players representing the Wales U15 national team on a recent camp in Portugal.

Olivia Barnett, Ella Hilliard, Zoe Smith and Phoebe Poole were all recently selected for a Wales U15 National training camp prior to the xmas break where the team traveled out to Portugal to play in two friendly matches.

The team were defeated 3-0 and 2-0 but the players can hold their heads high having played against tough opposition and they have all gained valuable learning experiences from the trip which also included a visit to the Estadio de Luz, the home of Benfica.

All four players are current members of the Barry Town Utd U16 team that remain unbeaten in the league this season and have qualified for the semi-final stages of the FAW Cup.

Olivia and Ella have been with the club since the age of 10 with Zoe joining the club 18 months ago and Phoebe at the start of the current season. The players all have a great work ethic and are great role models for the club and are maintaining our proud tradition of providing players into the the national setup on a regular basis in recent years.

Well done to the girls involved, the club are very proud of you all.
