A great way to end the 2014/15 season with a win for our u9's.
A FANTASTIC team performance saw the boys clinching both the Semi Final and Final on penalties. After a mixed season this win was truly well deserved!!
The u9's finished runners up in their group with only conceding one goal all day.
A fantastic goal from Blu clinched the win over Lads Club to finish runners up in league A to play an extremely strong Oldbury Park, with several shots on target from Ed, Samuel, Joel and Stanners we were unable to score in normal time, in extra time Oldbury were the stronger team but our defence of Ben and Marley made sure there were no shots on target! Down to penalties. William made 2 brilliant saves on the first 2 Oldbury penalties one a dive to the right and one being pushed over the cross bar. Blu and Stanners getting theirs in the back of the net we were a head, final score 4 2 to Bartestree.
On to the final. Bartestree were tiring, it had been a long day with some hard fought matches. A local derby against Withington. Both teams fought hard during normal and extra time with both teams having chances, down to the dreaded penalties again! No need to worry for Bartestree as Will Smith plays a blinder again by saving both the first two Withington penalties, which were both well taken and penalties, with Blu, Stanners and Ed burying theirs in the back of the net and Withington pulling one more back we wait holding our breath for Joel...... low and hard straight into the bottom right corner, it's all over 4 1 to Bartestree.
Well done boys!!! Enjoy the summer and we will do it all again in September.
