I know one name springs to mind, but please lets remember some of the other names that have previously wore the shirt. Naturally most of them can be considered as flankers next week. The three Harris's. Luke, Ron and Cullum. And big bad Bill Sweet. |

Lets not have too many flankers in the mix Ross. I think they should all be considered as No 8's only. also lupton & coster played no8 I played with Ron he knew how to score tries. Always good to have Coster and Sweet on your team could both go forward with power and looked after the rest of us. Luke was dynamic and Cullum, all though not dynamic very reliable.(great rucker) Patts is most likely the best player I have ever seen for Barts |

Since i joined the club the number 8 position has always been very strong with Patts, Luke harris, Sweetie and Steve ireland filling in for the boys when needed too. But for his overall game and running ability he brings to the team id have to pick Patts. Prob best player iv played with, good at smashing plant pots, good body for a middle aged bloke and to quote facial hes living the life of Max Branning. Ian Patten number 8 |

Sweetie was so powerful & aggresive as was Coster , it was always handy to have them on your side, & lets not forget Bateman wasn't that bad either! It could lift the whole team when they made big strides forward. Colom was & still is ferocious if you happen to be on the floor & in the vicinity of the ball. Ultimately though & with due respect to Luke Harris who is no slouch it has to be Pats, just total class. |

Can we start a thread on favourite comments, I just spat my spag bol all over the place!! if Face could put as much effort into playing as taking the piss he could have made it at Thornbury. It has to be Patts, Athletic, skilful, and a fine head of hair, I also heard Andy Farrell get pissed off with being told he looks like Patts. Others to big up are :- Bateman, Bill Sweet, Darren Perrit, Coster, Luke Harry Harris, Welsh Chris, Ian Rogers, and I think the Legend played 8 for us as well, I think to settle it we should have a royal rumble and see who is left alive. |

How could I forget the legend. Did he actually play for Barts? He told me he was the best player to never get an England cap. |

Thanks for the comments lads. Where do we start with the 8 position and I have played with some great no 8s Ron try scorer Harris , Kev ill kick gouge bite the xxxxxxxs Coster, Dave I’ve broke my neck again Lupton, Bill im not sticking my head in-between those asses Bateman, Cullum stamp on the fingers including mine Harris, Bill one punch (sorry vilely ) sweet. But my vote is with a player who I would have dream to play with and that’s Ian Patten simply the best N0 8 I have watch play , pace ,agility , awareness , great hands , Patts is just a quality player he does have a weakness thou he has a small penis for a man of his height. |

Im not Adam May which means a) a midget millie lookalike b) a man with terrible tattoos c) a tourettes sufferer and general all round tthornbury nause and d) wont vote for myself. On that basis I have to cast my mind back. As a colt I played some random games in the 3rds will Bill Bateman, who I rated very highly. Cullum Harris who I remember picking for 1st team games not so long ago at chosen hill where he was playing against his own 6th form pupils, and kicking them. The season I took out, Luke Harris was awesome in the games I watched but hes definitely a flanker. I think therefore I go with Sweety. Bill was one of the most vile bullies i ever met. His legs had bigger circumference than my chest and once on the hoof, there was no stopping him. prolific at scoring tries and clearing a path in front of him and leaving bodies behind him. Hi weakness was his pass, he passed like shane, just as well he never looked to. The back injury that made him 3 foot 2 prematurely ended him and I remember tthat horrible leg injury. But he gets the 8 shirt for me. |
