Reserves Steal 3 Points From Hessle
Barton took on Hessle Sporting United in a fixture in the Humber Premier League Division One that finished 5-4 to The Swans.
Following the poor weather the game was moved from Hessle's Home pitch to Bishop Burton College on the 3G pitch. Both teams started brightly and both created early chances, and Barton took the lead after 15 minutes. Joe Holmes won a corner following a strong run down the left, Jack Lorimer drove the corner into the box where the ball fell to recent signing Liam Seaward and he confidently smashed the ball into the bottom corner.
Hessle however hit back within a few minutes and equalised with a well taken goal and then five minutes before half time Hessle took the lead following a defensive error which let in the Hessle forward.
Barton came out the stronger in the Second Half and equalised when a neat through ball found Seaward and he drove the ball home to make the score 2-2, Hessle however not giving up, and took the lead once more capitalising on another defensive error from Barton. The lead did not last long and it was Seaward again, Seaward turned his man then drove forward to shoot into the top of the net from a cute angle to get a well-deserved hat trick!
Aiden Cooke, another new signing for The Swans, had come on as a substitute with 25 minutes remaining. From a good run and cross from Tommy Waud, and he headed home into the bottom corner. Barton were well on top at this time and extended their lead through Jari El following some great play from Joe Holmes on the left wing. Hessle kept going to their credit and scored their fourth goal of the game when a long ball beat the Barton defence and the Hessle forward drove the ball into the bottom corner.
Overall Barton deserved to win the game as they created the more clear cut chances however Hessle gave a good account of themselves.
Liam Seaward was man of the match following his hat trick however there were good performances from Tommy Waud, Alex France and Luke Kershaw.
