Barwell's top scorer on the hunt for more goals

Brady Hickey credited hard work in training behind recent heroics in Barwell's 5-0 hammering of Skelmersdale United.

The skipper recorded another three-haul during the victory, which takes their unbeaten run on the road to nine matches.

Hickey was pleased with the side's overall performance, but also highlighted the impact of full-back Eddy Nisevic.

“It was nice to get another hat-trick and reach 22 goals for the season," Hickey admitted.

“I’ve been spending a lot of time on my shooting in training all week so it feels good to see it pay off.

“Eddy (Nisevic) was superb down the left hand side and picked up two assists as a result.

“It was a lot more comfortable than we anticipated in all honesty.

“They tried to play and looked bright early on. But, when we pressed, we always looked dangerous, and then caused problems going forward".

With the arrival of Kai Davis on a dual registration with Tamworth in midweek, the captain is hopeful the recent signings will provide depth to the squad.

He said: “Now that we’ve been able to add to the team, it’s allowed us to rotate things. Hopefully it’ll add more freshness to the side.

“The Gaffa set us the target of nine points from the next three games so we’re on target and really looking forward to the next one!"
