Nuneaton - who were playing against Derby County earlier this week in a friendly match - will line up against the Canaries on Saturday, with kick off at 3pm.

A good crowd is expected to make the short journey over the A5, says Canaries boss Jimmy Ginnelly: “Many years ago I used to play for Nuneaton Borough reserves.

“I’ve always been a Boro fan, and I go to watch them when I can, so for their chairman Ian Neale to agree to the match is fantastic for a village team like us.

“I know of a couple of hundred from Nuneaton who are planning to come to the game.

“I hope they get the entertaining game I hope it will be.”

For the match, Ginnelly is planning to run the rule over a number of triallists at the club - so fans will be able to see some potential new signings for the first time at the match.

He said: “I’ve got around 20 lads who have trained very well, joined in training and met all the players now.

“We’re hoping to get them some minutes on the pitch and see how they do.”
